A bouquet of spring flowers may smell better than a bag of fresh popcorn, but it couldn’t be any more colourful than this cinema programme …
Featuring a selection of the finest films of recent years, the spring cinema event at the Kranzler Eck Berlin will once again herald the start of the open-air cinema season in the capital. Between 25 April and 4 May 2025, ten brilliant German and international big screen productions can be enjoyed in the arcade situated at the point where Kudamm, Kantstraße and Joachimsthaler Straße meet. It goes without saying that they are all in colour and – in the truest sense of the word – wonderfully colourful.
Like in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and The Little Mermaid – where everything glistens in various shades of blue under the sea. Or in Barbie, whose pink world will not only delight young girls. And then there is The Color Purple, the second film adaptation of the novel of the same name. Not forgetting the musical biopic Back to Black – even though it is not a colour as such. As always, the varied programme – featuring action, animation and fantasy films, as well as dramas, comedies and romances – is guaranteed to have something for everyone each evening.
Some of the best-known and finest actresses and actors of our time line up one after the other on the big screen. There are Hollywood superstars like Nicole Kidman and Jason Momoa in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, plus Ryan Gosling in Barbie and The Fall Guy, with heroes of the German silver screen also putting in an appearance, including Karoline Herfurth and Tom Schilling in A Million Minutes and Christoph Maria Herbst in Ein Fest fürs Leben.
All films start at 8 p.m. (doors open at 7 p.m., the opening programme with the rbb24 Abendschau starts at 7.30 p.m.). Admission to the open-air spring cinema event at the Kranzler Eck Berlin is, as ever, free of charge. A selection of drinks, popcorn and small snacks can be bought from a stand by the entrance. What’s more, all food and drink sold by the various outlets at the Kranzler Eck Berlin can be taken into the cinema. A colourful cinema evening at the Kranzler Eck Berlin is the perfect way to round off the day after visiting a nearby café or restaurant or completing a successful shopping trip in the surrounding stores. Anyone who has been hunting down chic spring fashion trends and top labels can slump into one of the 200 deckchairs and relax in front of the big screen.
